Dr. Kyle J. Wisdom serves as director of Global Advocacy for the World Evangelical Alliance and Deputy Director of the International Institute for Religious Freedom, a religious freedom think tank. In these roles, he leads strategic engagement with governments, multilateral institutions, and faith communities to advance religious freedom, human rights, and peacebuilding worldwide.
With more than two decades of cross-cultural leadership experience, Dr. Wisdom lived and worked extensively in Indonesia for eleven years before returning to the United States. His work integrates scholarship, advocacy, and practical field engagement, including representing the World Evangelical Alliance at high-level gatherings such as the G20 Interfaith Forum and the International Religious Freedom Summit, as well as engaging with UN and state-led initiatives.
Dr. Wisdom earned his Ph.D. from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies in partnership with Middlesex University, focusing on issues of religion and the state through the political philosophy of Indonesian Muslim thinker. His recently book, Civil Religious Pluralism as Political Philosophy: Insights from Nurcholish Madjid (De Gruyter), builds on this research and offers a distinctive contribution to political theory and interfaith relations. He has also published in several journals, including the International Journal for Religious Freedom and the International Journal of Asian Christianity.
He is an adjunct professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University, has taught and presented in universities and international programs across several continents, and is also an Anglican priest, ordained by Bishop Victor Atta-Baffoe in Cape Coast, Ghana.
